2 cups All Purpose Flour
1 Tbs Davis Baking Powder
2 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Kosher Salt
1 Tbs Granulated Sugar
1 Tbs Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp Ground Ginger
1 tsp Ground Cloves
1 tsp Ground Allspice
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
1/2 cup Sour Cream
1 Tbs Maple Syrup
1/4 cup Whole Milk
1/4 cup Toasted Hazelnuts, chopped
1 cup Light Brown Sugar
8 Tbs Unsalted Butter melted + 8 Tbs Unsalted Butter (cold and cut into bits)
1 Tbs Ground Cinnamon
1/2 cup Heavy Cream
Directions

Instructions for Biscuits: 1. Pre-heat oven to 400° F

 

2. Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar, and spices. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

 

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together sour cream, whole milk, and maple syrup.

 

4. Pour the liquid mixture into the dry mixture, and mix until dough holds together.

 

5. Roll out on floured surface to ½ inch thick in a rectangle shape. Fold in half and roll again to ½ inch thick. Fold in half again and roll to ¾ inch thick.

 

6. Bake at 400° F for 20 minutes or until golden brown

 

Instructions for Caramel Sauce: 7. Combine brown sugar, butter, heavy cream, and cinnamon together in a medium saucepan and heat over medium-low heat.

 

8. Cook until thickened, about 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let cool.

 

9. Drizzle biscuits with caramel sauce. Top with toasted hazelnuts.
